SOLOMON Islands’ first female to enter parliament Hilda Kari describes the introduction of women’s political party as a step in the right direction for women.

Speaking during yesterday’s media forum, Mrs Kari said such initiative and interest can bring women into the focus.

“Inorder for women to actively involve, they must introduce their political parties or join political parties.

“Women must take such interest and initiatives.”

She congratulated Mrs Delma Nori for taking the bold initiative in introducing the political party.

“She is the first Solomon Islands woman to introduce a political party, therefore I must congratulate her,” she said.]…]

Mrs Kari has been a People’s Alliance Party supporter up until 2001.

Hilda Kari, la première femme à entrer au parlement des Iles Salomon, qualifie l’arrivée du parti politique des femmes d’une évolution positive dans la direction des femmes.

Hier, au cours du forum des media, Madame Kari déclarait qu’une telle initiative et un tel intérêt ramènerait la femme au centre des débats.

Afin de s’impliquer activement, les femmes doivent présenter leur propre parti politique ou rejoindre un parti déjà existant.

« Les femmes doivent commencer à s’y intéresser et à prendre des initiatives. »

Elle félicitait Madame Delma Nori pour son audacieuse initiative de création de ce nouveau parti politique.

« Elle est la première femme à l’origine de la création d’un parti politique et c’est pour cette raison que je la félicite. » dit elle.]…]

Mme Kari a soutenu le Parti de l’Alliance jusqu’en 2001.
